Statue
A person looks at a statue and thinks, 'what a wonderful thing
I’ll keep that in my memory and forever it will be with me
That inside is a representation of what had came from without'
I want to correct him, but it wouldn’t do even to shout
A man a little older notices a statue in the corner by the door
And thinks, 'I know just what this is telling me – I wish denial no more
That this representation, though I thought I’d let it go, I just couldn’t see
Now it's to be cut free from this house of me, to make room for something more'
But, go he would not, rather stood there like a stone
Outside of the door, there he be, from him I was not alone
So I kept him around, 'with a few modifications, I suppose he can serve me'
For he did want to help, clearly, and a transformation was the key
